At a time of uncertainty, isolation and fear it is really important that our clients can experience a sense of connection when we may not be able to meet in person. Video conferencing provides a solution to physical distancing and continuity of care. There are several benefits to this format, which Hagara and Xi describe:
In addition to using video conferencing, Secure Nest can become the personalised transitional object your clients may need. Secure Nest can provide an extension of limited reparenting, between sessions.
I have experienced that clients can feel held by Secure Nest as they can log in and see an image of you as their therapist, and perhaps be directed to some in-built modules or recordings that are personalised based on their needs in the Library.
In addition, if you are running schema therapy groups and your groups need to be cancelled we encourage you to create a shared group space in Secure Nest where the group leaders can moderate communication but the group members can feel socially connected to each other. We can make a difference at this unpredictable time by ensuring the group members feel connected and able to express themselves in a shared safe space.

Immediate reduction in prices
We are conscious that the actions being taken by governments in many countries to ‘lockdown’ citizens to slow the spread of COVID-19 has the potential to result in significant economic hardship.
In aid of not adding to that burden, and even to reduce it, effective immediately we are halving the cost of Secure Nest subscriptions to therapists for both new and existing subscribers. We will extend the discounted price until June 1st, 2020.
Furthermore, we are offering free access for self-help clients (clients who are not linked to a therapist). This option may be suitable for people on a wait list, those who are looking for a schema therapist or clients who have finished therapy, but wish to continue using Secure Nest independently. Among other tools we provide access to a three-week Self-Education Program for self-help clients. We have already extended existing self-help client accounts to June 1st 2020. If you would like to have a free trial extended to that date, please get in touch with us.
Please visit our subscriptions page to find out more.
Making Secure Nest available to the United States
We are working toward making Secure Nest available in a larger number of countries, while remaining compliant with local regulations. To avoid therapists breaking HIPAA requirements, we had previously not made Secure Nest available to the United States. However, as a result of recent events the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is exercising its enforcement discretion and will not impose penalties for noncompliance with the regulatory requirements under the HIPAA Rules against covered health care providers in connection with the good faith provision of telehealth during the COVID-19 nationwide public health emergency (read more).
In light of this we are opening Secure Nest to United States residents for therapist and client registration.
Please ensure you read our site terms where we have a section which expands on our offering to the United States. Our hope is that by the end of this health emergency we will be in a position to offer Secure Nest in an ongoing capacity to United States based therapists and their clients.
If you are located in another country that is not in the list on our account registration page, please contact us so that we can consider adding it based on regulations.
How else can we support you?
If there is anything else we can do to support your use of Secure Nest, if you have any questions, if you would like to arrange a short video chat to help you better understand integrating online tools into your therapy practice or how to use our features, please get in touch.
