We are pleased to share that recent changes to Secure Nest make it easier to use the Library modules in therapy.

We are pleased to share that recent changes to Secure Nest make it easier to use the Library modules in therapy. The Library includes a range of educational modules on schema therapy concepts, practical and experiential exercises including schema mindfulness and imagery audio exercises written by experienced schema therapists from around the world.

As a therapist, you can link these modules to relevant modes in My Modes (which is your client’s case conceptualisation) or as Homework entries at an appropriate point in therapy. Your client can then complete these modules between therapy sessions in a shared online space.

Click an image below for a sneak peek into some of the modules:

If you would like to write or contribute to a module for Secure Nest, please get in touch with us.

Contributions could include schema therapy based content you have developed for your own clients such as flashcards or education around specific topics.

We, and the community of clients receiving schema therapy and accessing Secure Nest all around the world, would appreciate what you have to share.

Contributions will be acknowledged and rewarded.

Below are the steps to link a module in My Modes or to a Homework entry.
First you will need to visit the Library and work out which module might be relevant. Make a mental note of the category and the name of the module that you want to link.

Link a module to a mode in My Modes (therapist or client)

  1. Open My Modes (Workshop -> My Modes)
  2. Choose Edit next to the mode you wish to link the module to
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the mode fields, under Linked Modules & Activities, click Create new Link
  4. Select Module as the Resource Type and then the Category and name of the module you want to link, click Add
  5. This will link the module at the bottom of the mode for easy reference. Click Update to save any changes you made.

Link a module to a Homework entry (therapist)

  1. Open Homework (Workshop -> Homework)
  2. Create a new Homework entry by adding a Summary, Description and Date (you can also choose to create a Calendar entry to provide a reminder email to your client)
  3. Under Linked Modules & Homework Files, click Create New Link
  4. Select Module as the Resource Type and then the Category and name of the module you want to link, click Add
  5. Click Submit to create the Homework entry for your client to complete.

We hope you find these new ways of using modules helpful 😊

Reach out to us if you have any questions on the above or would like to arrange a video call so that we can introduce you to these tools.
